The Good Fight Church (TGFC) Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response
Current Situation - The current manner in which we worship, interact communally, serve, and give will be impacted by the continued transmission of COVID-19 in our society. Although repercussions are unknown, our conduct can serve as a Light in the darkness for many. While we daily have the opportunity to be His hands and feet, God has clearly given us the space in this season as His Bride to provide light and love to those in the darkness. As followers of Christ, we know our destination, and as people begin to think about their own mortality, we have an opportunity to exhibit hope to all those around us. It is time to step into what Proverbs 3:5 instructs us to do: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
Our Mission - To make disciples through Christ-centered worship, service, and community. Our mission has not changed!
Current Operations - We will continue to accomplish our mission by providing the following guidance:
Stay Informed and Steward Well- In critical moments, accurate information is key. However, where we get the information and how we process it can prevent unnecessary panic and concern. There are several websites that provide valuable information. Here are a few recommended sites: www.coronavirus.gov and www.occhd.org. These sites offer information and suggested protective measures for individuals and the collective public.
Facebook and other social media sites are not always recommended sources for accurate information. Before passing on information, check the validity and motive for sharing. Is the information/presentation going to cause panic and hysteria, or does it shed light on a dark situation? There is often a thin line between conjecture, false information, rumors, and the truth when communicating information. Let’s be good stewards of the resources and information that we have available to us. We must continue to bear one another’s burdens and fulfill the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2).
Communication and Connection - The church staff will notify members and regular attenders via email, texts, phone calls, and/or Facebook. As conditions evolve and the situation dictates, there will be communication from the church regarding activities during the week and overall operations of home-base. Keep in touch with your connection group leaders, restoration group leaders, and other members of the church. Praise God that we live in a time in which we stay connected; there is no reason to feel isolated!
Be Flexible and Adapt - One of our core values is to be teachable and coachable. The essence of this is to have a coachable spirit and be able to make adjustments. During this season, we must be flexible and adapt our routines within the body to continue to glorify God and have maximum Kingdom impact. As the COVID-19 situation continues to change, we have a plan to adjust when and where we worship God. A situation such as this can be scary, but it can also be a time to demonstrate deep faith! Worshiping God looks different for everyone, but the heart is the same: serve Him through your time, talents, and treasure. As we adapt, we must stay the course and worship Him individually and as the body of believers. Encourage one another, be accountable, and shine as the brightest Light in a time when it can feel dark! (1 Thess. 5:11)
The Plan and Procedure - We will continue to be His body regardless of what the world looks like. TGFC has a plan in place that we believe will maximize Kingdom impact for The Good Fight Church.
