He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31)
Without out God, our power is minimal. With God, our strength is never ending. Have you ever been overwhelmed by your circumstances? Committed to too much? Have so much on your plate that you know you are careless or not doing a very good job? The act of believing in God is where we start with being overwhelmed. often times, we get paralyzed when we are overwhelmed. It's often where life change happens because you fall to your bottom. What if you didn't have to experience this? What if you saw the signs before the chaos begins? Mature Christians do this. People with life experience do this. But, how do they do this? My thoughts are practice, belief, and community. People who succeed at this practice daily what they have learned, they believe with every ounce of their being that God has their circumstance under control, and they surround themselves in a community where they are held responsible and accountable for their actions/inactions.
With a few changes of our environment, people, and things, we can make this a reality and not just a blog post.:) Practicing your faith is religion. A way to do life based on your set of beliefs. Integrity. Integrity to me is producing on the outside what God has done on the inside. Consistency. Honesty. Accountability. This isn't something that is given, but something that is earned. Practicing what you preach is a discipline that is vital to giving it to God.
Belief that God is the power is our faith. Believing is so powerful that it can change nations. Belief that God is the only power that can truly changes us is the catalyst of practice. Without it, we don't have legs to stand. Sometimes the belief is hard to stand firm in because we have to rely on the spirit and not our sight. However, don't miss modern day miracles. When Jesus moves in other's lives, use that encounter to believe. If you have to see to believe, maybe you need to adjust your eyesight. Sometimes we don't see because we aren't looking. Expect big things from our God and big things you will see. Don't just evaluate your life, but look how God is moving in other peoples lives.
Community. Doing life together with like minded people. Why is this so important? How can you wisdom without talking to others? You can't. God wants us in relationship with the trinity and when we are in relationship with other believers, it is steering us toward Him. God forgives us, and he uses people to help heal us. God's power in relationships and community is abundant. He uses people to communicate to us and to help us in our journey. Surround yourself with positive, Jesus loving people...otherwise you will continue to spin your tires instead of growing. Get uncomfortable. Meaning, don't cover up your sins for your community. Rather, be transparent. God will use your community to help get you to where He wants you to be.
God's power is within reach. It is inside us. His will sometimes seems impossible, but that is only when we are consumed with this world. Be strong in your belief, practice, and community!
